Big Data Analysis of the Fashion Market in New Zealand

E-commerce in New Zealand works differently than in other OECD countries. This is because of its geographic location and relatively small population - 5 million people who live in an area similar to the territory of Great Britain. Large e-commerce platforms and services such as Amazon, eBay and Zalando have not yet entered the New Zealand market.

Despite this, due to the presence of local and Australian producers, the competition in the market is fierce.

Together with Pure SEO (an agency from New Zealand), our SEO experts performed a study with a proprietary tool based on machine learning algorithms.

We downloaded 50 desktop and 50 mobile Google search results, each using universal Google search with New Zealand geolocation and English language interface. We analysed 10,099 key phrases consisting of 1 to 6 words belonging to the clothing category and downloaded over 134 Gb of raw data.

Thanks to this, we discovered the precise factors influencing visibility in search results, traffic and revenues from an organic source in the New Zealand fashion market.
